This Team Effectiveness Assessment will help to identify where you believe the strengths and the areas for development lie for your team. It will help you recognise what sort of team building exercise would be most useful for your team.

There are twenty five questions relating to teams. Answer, as honestly as possible, using the following scale.  Enter your answer in the white spaces provided.

Atmosphere This is sometimes called the culture of the team and is defined by how it feels to be in the team. %
Relationships A good team atmosphere is based on the teams quality of relationships and how well people ‘get on’ %
Communication This is a critically important dimension and is related to the flow of information and the volume of information that people have to do their job. Do people know what is going on? %
Direction Effective teams have an internal organisation that enables members to sustain performance by enabling them to use the team strengths well whilst compensating for areas of development. %
Objectives This dimension refers to the teams purpose. People need to have a clear understanding of both what the mission is and also what it means to the team members on a day to day business. %
 
80 - 100 An area of considerable strength.  This team is outstanding in this area and other teams should be looking to this one as a model to learn from.
59 - 79 An area of strength that the team should capitalise upon.
42 - 58 Area that although not a significant weakness for the team is also not a strength.  Overall team performance may be advanced appreciably by addressing this area.
29 - 41 An area of weakness that is likely to be holding the team back.
0 - 28 Area of considerable weakness for this team.  It is undoubtedly impacting the teams overall performance and should be addresses immediately.
