Accredited Diploma in Management Programme
What's it all about?
The Diploma in Management (level 4) programme offered by PSA Training and Development is designed to provide a firm foundation in manager development for both public and private sector organisations. The Diploma in Management is awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and is firmly established as the leading UK qualification for managers, respected and valued by employers.
The Diploma has been specifically designed to meet the needs of a wide range of industries and combines the latest manager development thinking with practical ‘hands on’ application of knowledge and skills.
The programme comprises of approximately 30 facilitated days. These are structured around a series of short workshops that can be scheduled to meet your own organisational cycle and needs. Each workshop has been designed to meet the Diploma in Management criteria whilst remaining flexible enough to provide an opportunity for us to work in partnership with you to deliver what’s needed to support your organizational agenda and people development strategy.

By the end of the Diploma in Management candidates will have;

Successful participants will also gain the full level 4 Diploma in
Management awarded by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The Diploma
is a nationally accredited programme and allows entry to the second year of
many MA and MBA programmes.
The programme culminates in the presentation of a ‘value add’ business
focused project designed to address current business issues and provide
financial savings to the value of participants programme registration costs.
Who is it for?
The CMI accredited Diploma in Management is primarily designed for those holding or aspiring to, an operational management role; it will also appeal to experienced managers with only a basic academic background, as well as those with formal academic qualifications. There are no specific entry requirements for the programme. However, it is recommended that participants have prior learning and experience at a comparable level, breadth and scope of a level 3 management qualification.
Programme Design
Based on the Chartered Management Institute syllabus, the Diploma covers a broad range of management competencies and issues appropriate to modern management. The programme consists of nine core modules that are designed to relate understanding of appropriate theoretical knowledge to the practical application of everyday activities of managers and supervisors. Each module has been designed to meet the Diploma criteria whilst remaining flexible enough to provide an opportunity for us to work in partnership with your organisation to deliver what you need to support your company's management development policy, change initiatives or to address specific organisational issues.

- Self Development, Personal Effectiveness and Meeting Skills
- Marketing, Customer Needs and Organisational Structures
- Recruitment and Selection
- Managing Information and decision Making
- Finance and Planning
- Managing Performance
- Health and Safety and Continuous Improvement
- Developing Others
- Presentation Skills
How Long Does it Take?
The programme comprises of approximately 30 facilitated days which can be scheduled to meet your own organisational cycle. The programme can be completed within 6 months however; our experience has shown that programmes run over 18 months with approximately 2 months between modules are the most successful. In addition to facilitated modules participants will be required to complete their own private study and written assignments.
How is it Assessed?
To achieve an overall pass participants are required to demonstrate their learning and development through the completion of assignments, a learning log and portfolio. Participants are also required to complete a final project designed to examine, in depth, a current organisational management topic or problem of particular relevance to his/her own interests and work.
